Tallulah's 2...

Sensing a theme here. Wow, a yearly blog. Ok, ok... we'll get better about posting I promise. Ok, Dad? You are the only one who reads this thing anyways. ;)

Life got a little hectic after Tallulah's last birthday. We found out that we were moving back to Austin, TX by the end of the year. That happened quick. T's work relocated us and we were out here by Thanksgiving. This last year has kind of flown as he's been busting his butt in the ATX office and cleaning up after his predecessor. I've been trying to get my name into the photography world and get back to work. The kids are enjoying their Farm School (M-Th for W, T/Th for T) and my mom's enjoying seeing her grandkids every weekend.

And that's about it. Anyone who knows us knows it's been a busy year. I'll honestly try to make an effort and update this site with useful info about what's going on. New pics up on Flickr.

Tally's almost a year old!

Wyatt's in pre-school. Montesorri is suiting him just fine and he's learning lots. :)

Tallulah is having her one year birthday party this Saturday. She's yapping, crawling and starting to walk assisted. She's got 5 teeth and her smile is getting bigger each day.

Wyatt is a great big brother always making her laugh. We're working on a gold star chart for him as behavior incentives of Spider-man gear is more apparent. This week's goal- all stars for Star Wars sheets. A couple of weeks ago, he got a Mr. Potato Head. He wants a hula hoop but he hasn't had all stars on those weeks. His speaking ticks are cute. He can't say Ls or Rs really well so Wonder Woman comes out won-woma or some variety of Wa sounds. Why-on is Lion and the like... He gets super frustrated and throws a fit when he can't say something right. He'll get it though. His forehead is healing ok... we went to Legoland and he ran into a convex window and it practically reopened. We had to go to the plastic surgeon a couple of times. It will definitely be a scar. Wyatt's growing so quickly, he's 38" tall, two inches since his birthday! His favorite foods are chicken and pizza (wow, surprise) and cheese. He eats apples, carrots and the occasional banana but he's not big on green things. He's even starting to not like (mostly because he found out it's a veggie) spinach. Dammit.

Tallulah is eating most everything so far. She doesn't like cheese. What?! She's wearing 18months - 2T and she's not even a year old! She's very much like Wyatt in that she loves books and making sounds. She says Na Na and Ne Ne, Ga Ga, Ma Ma... I'm sure there are more, those are the main ones I listen for. Na is snacks, Ne is drink, Ga is Wyatt and Ma is me or Todd.

Looking forward to shooting new pics of them, they crack each other up. I'm also looking forward to Halloween. My mom's flying out. We hope to go to Julian, get apples and a pumpkin, the whole autumnal bits.

Oh, up from naps, off I go...

Um, oops.

So, almost a year later, here I am to update. It's not like anyone really reads this anyways, but here it goes.

Tallulah Eve was born healthy at 6lbs, 3oz on 9/20. She's about 9 months old now and weighs about 20 pounds and is crawling and pulling up to a stand on her own. She has two teeth and started solids around a month ago. She cracks up whenever Wyatt jumps around and 'rars' at her. And she's very curious, relaxed and serious with a pouty lip that sticks out past her adorable chubby cheeks.

Wyatt's doing great. He's going to school now. Montessori pre-school for half days. He absolutely loves it, mostly because it's summer session and he gets to play on the playground so much. His best friends are Emma + Meredith + Luciana + Spencer... I picked him up today and 4 girls were hugging him and waving good-bye to him in an almost cultish/groupie like manner. Sigh, so like his daddy.

At a little over 3 years old now and he got his first stitches. Chasing a girl of course (my best friend's youngest, Annabelle) and he came around the corner and smacked into the corner of the wall... pics below. 7 stitches, a cat scan and 6 hours later, home and I'm breathing again. Chicks dig scars, right?

38 weeks

Everything is looking good coming up on the 38 week mark. Had our 37 week check up today and my bp is 112/68 and baby girl is doing well... head down but not dropped. I'm 2 cm dilated and 50% effaced, so all that means is the process is on track but can really happen at any time between now and 41 weeks... could be tomorrow or October (I hope not that long!).

Wyatt is doing pretty good. We all just got over a summer cold and so we've been spending a lot of time here at home. That also means, he's been using the potty! GPD Warning: Gross Potty Details ahead! I don't expect him to keep it up but it has been nice on the diaper budget to have him in big boy pants while at home. He loves running to the potty and turning on the light and 'watching potty candy' with his elbows held while I waddle into the restroom to help him pull trow and sit to pee on his potty. He gets one m+m for peeing in the potty and I've told him if he poops, he gets a lollipop! Most of the time, he takes the initiative but sometimes we ask if he needs to go, he's caught himself once peeing on the rug, stopped, and waddled/ran to the toilet to finish!

I'm actually looking forward to all the girliness coming into our lives, we have pink and purple blankets with butterflies... Lady bugs are adorable! And yes, I actually kinda like those hideous hair bows I've always laughed at. More to come....

34 week checkup and oh, so emotional!

Ok, I'm feeling it now. On all fronts. I can't take Wyatt to the zoo or beach or sea world or whatever for the day anymore... I'm 8.5 months pregnant and have no energy or patience. (plus it's been in the 90's this week, ick)

Today's checkup went well enough. 122/70 was my bp and baby's measuring fine. They even triple checked the amount of fluid with another ultrasound and she says 'yes, she's small but she's fine!' so good news. :)

The make me smile and cry thing of the day is that Wyatt says 'YES' so very clearly and perfectly, it just makes me proud and happy... silly but true. Sure, he says NO! but he's phasing out of 'yeah' with 'yes' with a crystal clear 'S' on the end. So pleasant.

August - 32 weeks preg. + 27 months old

We're officially 8 months pregnant with baby girl! We had a growth sonogram this week since I'm measuring a little small and everything is fine- she's about 4.5lbs so far and my blood pressure has been consistently 110/70 the last 3 visits. I have low grade anemia and am taking iron pills (ouch) for that but other than that, we're doing alright. She is kicking my belly (and cervix) more than regularly so she's definitely fine.

Wyatt is definitely pushing buttons and limits lately. He's starting to throw and hit and we've gone to no tv and pulling toys away as punishment since time out wasn't doing it. I hear this is just something we have to do and it gets a little easier so wish us luck! :)

Going to pack the bag and make sure the crib and swing are ready to be put up soon. Starting to go through Wyatt's clothes and make room for her stuff. I give it 6 weeks before she decides to show up but you never know...
