Not quite 100%, but certainly better

Wy made soup. Chicken soup. From real chicken. And it was _gooooood_.

I do feel a bit better, but not near well enough. Still, need to head back to the office. I have an amazing amount of work that is piling up, and as much as I can do it from home, I've just not been able to think straight.

In other news, we have our first appt on the 4th of october, so we'll see how things go there with the OB/GYN. Nervous? A bit. Just want to make sure things are progressing appropriately, and get any more 'do's and don'ts' out of the way. Its frankly astounding what you can and cannot do while pregnant. Things like herbal tea. No electric blankets. Cats(which is just FINE with me, evil beasts), no hot dog! (??),tap water(nasty bad evil water!), etc etc....it keeps on going. Of course there are the standard : don't drink alcohol, don't smoke, don't do 'drugs'(inclusive of OTC meds as well). Common sense? Isn't. Part of me feels like asking the mothers of the last X million years how they survived the drinking water.

Admittedly, there are more toxic substances in the world today. Is it possible to avoid them all? Are you doing you and/or your child a disservice by doing so, or attempting to do so ? Is the 'boy in a bubble' just an apocryphal tale? Not really something you want to 'experiment' with you know? But in almost all cases, 'today', I think we are.

No tap water? Que?

(And the point about mothers and kids surviving in eras past... well, the mortality rate for under 5s in England was around 60% until the late 18th century.)

REAL chicken, eh? I guess, Auntie Cora's whole/quartered chicken-on-bone in soup is a little rough for Mr. Midwest. =) I'm just glad you like my cooking darlin'!

About what you read and what you hear from everyone, don't believe all of it. If your OB Dr. is a good one and your comfortable with him/her, believe them. You will know what is good for you and bad for you.

Everything in moderation, but no bad things, whats the deal about cats?

toxoplasmosis <---- nasty.

"Toxoplasmosis is a disease caused by a parasite that can infect your cat if she eats prey already harboring the parasite or comes into contact with contaminated soil."

And yes Wy, Cora's soup was fine ;) smartass...
