In the semi immortal words of Austin Powers :" Yes please!"
In this case however, the question is: Do you want to know the sex of your baby before or after the birth of said baby?
There are pros and cons for either, and I'll tell you right now, we're leaning towards 'find out before'. Lets look at a small list of reasons...
Pros for before:
1. Decorating much easier
2. Baby shower, if there is one, is not fraught with 'unisex' peril.
3. Names are much easier to come up with
4. Some of us are planners......
Cons:
1. Where is the fun in that, come on, its a surprise!
I, uh, can't really think of any other good reasons why to wait....anyone ?

Ok, so I found out every-time cause I can't wait(I always looked for my presents before Christmas, one time actually found parents condoms, yuk...but I digress)...but if you do find out what you are having then at the baby shower you end up getting a butt-load of pink/blue clothes when what you really need are breastpads, batteries for all those baby toys and gadgets and many other necessities and it is kind fun to shop for your own baby so let someone else get all that other mundane crap...phew. What a loaded response huh?
All I can give you is my experience on this topic. we chose to find out and we both found it helpful - not that it mattered what the sex was but - geesh - we had no control over anything but knowing the sex. It helped me personally to bond better knowing and naming Sydney before seeing her in the outside world. Also, as it helped me to know at least one damn thing in 10 and a half months (I have a slow roast oven).
If we had a second which may be in my next life, I would leave it as a surprise - this mystery may get me through all the crap I DO know what I would possibly go through. But for the first there are certainly enough surprises ahead. Knowing one part of this process can feel empowering!!!
