Toys

No, not for the child, for Wy and I!

We would prefer that you not call them toys however. Call them, if you will, implements of the nest. That should be 'Implements Of The Nest!'. Er, we bought a new stove, and a new dishwasher. To go with the new floor thats going in upstairs. Oh, and a new faucet for the kitchen sink. We'd love to put a new kitchen sink in, but that would require a new counter...

I'd also be totally stoked with a new washer and dryer...but the budget, such that it is, does not allow for that.

What'd we buy?

range

and

diswasher

I've love to have:

this washer
and
this dryer

But, as I usually say, its nice to want things. We'll see if I get anything approaching a decent bonus this time around, and maybe I'll surprise myself with a new washer and dryer...as well as a new floor!

For me, an absolute necessity of imminent fatherhood was a better camera. For, you know, baby photos.

You may want to be careful when considering buying large appliances from LG. They have lots of flashy features and great prices, but they tend to break. A lot. Both our fridge and our dishwasher had things fark up on them within a year of purchase. Just a word of caution...! Good call on the range and dishwasher.

thanx tess! good to know for sure!

chester was woeing to me today about his bosch experience.... had a water heater, prolly orig to house, like 17 years or something, finally went out. he bought a bosch, almost uber for about $1k with total uber warranty, online. 8 months later, the water buid-up blocks the valve. he calls the warranty into action wanting a new one but no, you have return it to the store where you bought it, not thru the manufacturer. online store says it doesn't cover the warranty if water's been run thru it and there's evidence of deposits. um, so, what good is a warranty then, how do you know if it's working or not? the other one worked for how long?
so he bought another new one for cheaper and so far so good... he's turned sour on a supposedly high-end brand with his experience too, understandably.

Interesting that we had someone delete their comment.

Come now, whomever you were, comment!

BTW, thanks Tess. Now I need to look at the samsung washer and dryer... :\

Oh, the Samsungs, they are very nice. Bummer about Chester and his water heater debacle! It's so sad when manufacturers weasel out of warranty commitments...
