parenting a dog, just not the same....

hopefully. our pup's new nickname is loaf.

because he ate a whole (less the one end piece and two slices) loaf of wheat bread.

he was doing really good not chewing stuff he's not supposed to for like 3 whole years. then, we started cleaning out the office and getting in kid mode and he was showing how upset he was, chewing on stuff. then, just recently, he's been pretty good.... for like the last 3-4 weeks. today, there was the bag, still with twistie tie, shredded open at the middle, with three pieces leftover and not a crumb in site. not bad for a pup who didn't have much of an appetite the night before. all in all, there are worse things for him to eat and it's prolly my fault for not feeding him enough this morning but i didn't want him to get ill again (puked up dinner a couple of nights ago... acting fine so been feeding him smaller amounts).

now, we wait for the poop of giant proportions resembling a wheat sponge....

Oh, Fender. Wheat sponge - hah! Also, I'd be surprised if he didn't have a pretty impressive flatulence situation percolating with all that wheat in his belly.

Poor baby, you must remember he is probably starting to feel a little left out.

So, give him lots of love and make sure he thinks the babe is his own little puppy brother.

Better to be a protector than a jealous older sib.

Love,
D..

Too funny, give him a love for me.

he was great yesterday, then ate 3 everything bagels today, more farty off the bagels then the bread tess, heh.
i swear, his affinity for bready goodness is worrying me.... i mean, they were up/back from the edge of the counter. going thru tonight and making sure there's nothing for the pup to get into this next week, jeesh. i fed him a huge bowl of food this morning then made sure he had a bowl of food when we left the house @ 11. he seems fine, just keeping an eye on him.
d- i know, we've been taking him out more recently (not as much rain/cold) and with daylight savings and all, it'll be much easier when i get home and it's not dark. we'll see.
