Had breastfeeding class last night- went pretty well. A lot of it was stuff you read online or in free flyers though. The childbirthing class on the other hand, not so much- learning tons and they have a book that goes along with the class (that has already scared one couple friend of ours into swearing never to have kids). We have the second half of that this Sunday. Interesting fact: all the people in the birthing class, except one, are having boys. The nursing class was pretty split but I still think there were more boys, and two couples who didn't want to know what sex their kid was- who does that anymore?! =) hehee.
Nope, I think we're progressing pretty well. Gonna be going thru clutter this next week or two and putting finishing touches on the kid's room and the patio I think. I'm planning on working thru the 24th, my hours are more limited (working 5-6 hour days if I want) so this should go by pretty quickly, dang. Welp, almost 11, I should head into work, heh.

One thing I have a hard time getting past is the male animosity towards having a girl. To the point of, jokingly mind you, 'Anyone want to trade!' or 'Thank God its a BOY!'.
People are just funny(strange) I guess.
Yeah, I thought that was weird too... but people suck so oh well.
Sometimes people are 'concerned' about continuing the family name and the preconception that a little girl while nice does not add to the 'power' of the household, think Medieval times or some rural areas in China, the attitudes continue into our more modern times. If you can only have one child, then you had better have a boy to continue the line or be the 'prince' versus the 'princess'. Does not make sense, but old thoughts prevail.
I have been blessed with a four of you and I am very happy that I have a little girl in the mix as well as three great sons.
D..
